Summary
Chapter 8
Bronwyn
Bronwyn was the only one out of the four who with her parents when Detective Mendoza pulled Bronwyn aside to go to the polices station after the memorial service. Her parents are very angry and in disbelief, saying, "how could anyone think Bronwyn would kill a boy because he was about to post a lie". However, Bronwyn confronts "it's not a lie" meaning the gossip that was about to be published was true. She admitted she cheated and used a computer to get a chemistry test question to get full scores on the one subject she had low scores on.
Her parents felt betrayed.
Bronwyn was confused about how Simon had figured out and shocked about what she read about the other people as well.
Nate
The other three people who were with Nate on the day of Simon's death think its Nate since he deals with drugs and is a troublemaker.
However, the detectives could not find any drugs from Nate's home since he hid them all but warned him not to sell any more drugs otherwise things will get out of hand. The investigation is severely strong especially on Nate, and the police are trying to prove things whilst they cannot get any evidence.
Chapter 9
Addy
Addy is convinced by Ashton (her sister) and finally decides to tell Jack the truth and what happened
even about her secret with TJ. The two sisters make their way to Jack's house, and when she explains it all, he is incredibly mad and feels betrayed and throws Addy out of his house. Just as she flops to the floor on his doorway, she tries to get up and walk to town but sees her sister pull up right in front of her, saving Addy. Just like that, her relationship had ended and she felt empty and hadn't felt this worthless in years.
Thoughts
I had an amazing time reading this because I thought I had an idea of who did the crime, but after finding out that everyone was shocked that Simon even knew their secrets blew my mind. I think the reason this book is so popular is that you simply cannot stop reading since you want to read other people's point of view (because if you read further on, you will be able to find out what the other characters were thinking at the same time or what the other characters were up to at that time). In my opinion, the book is very well written because the parts that do not seem that important connects to events that happen later on in the book and being able to realize those little hints makes me very happy as a reader.
